Happy New Year! We are so excited to be starting the New Year and for all of the great activities we have planned for your kiddo in 2019 at Kidstown Learning Center in Lake Worth.

The month of January is going to be a fun one! We will be celebrating the New Year, Martin Luther King Day, and learning about all kinds of animals and their habitats. Keep reading to learn more about the fun preschool education events we have planned.

Theme: All Kinds Of Animals

Does your child love animals? We hope so! This month we are learning all about animals and their habitats. By the end of this month, your child will be able to identify many different animals by their names and know many facts about them, such as their habitat. Here are a few of the activities we will be doing this month to help your child learn about animals:

Petting Zoo Visit

What better way to learn about animals than by seeing them in person? Your child will be able to engage with many different farm animals, including petting their favorite animal. Through seeing, touching, smelling, and exploring, your preschooler will be exposed to new sensory opportunities and will gain so much knowledge from their first-hand experience with both new and familiar animals.

Animal Activities

Throughout the month of January, your child will be engaging in many different activities around animals, including pets, farm animals, city animals, and more. Through hands-on learning activities, such as making animals out of paper plates and bags, pet books, puppets, gluing sea animals onto blue paper, bug hunting, and more, your child will gain so much knowledge about all types of animals, while falling in love with learning in the process.

Suggested Activity

Enhance your child’s preschool education by working with them to create an animal book at home. Browse the internet, magazines, and newspapers to find pictures of all different kinds of animals — farm animals, pets, zoo animals, and sea animals. Once you have your animal collection, identify and create a page for each habitat your animal lives in. Then create a cover page with the title and name of your book and staple all of the pages together. Don’t forget to bring it to school to share with the class! We can’t wait to see everyone’s creative animal books!
